ΣΥΝΤΟΜΟ ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΚΟ 

Η Έφη Μάνου γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1958.
Σπούδασε Παιδαγωγικά στην Α.Π.Α.Ψ και ζωγραφική ,σκηνογραφία ,αγιογραφία και θεωρητικά στην Α.Σ.Κ.Τ.Αθήνας.
Παρακολούθησε επίσης μαθήματα ζωγραφικής στο Royal College of Arts στο Λονδίνο και στη N.York Academy στη Ν.Υόρκη.

Έχει παρουσιάσει έργα της σε επτά ατομικές εκθέσεις. Έχει πάρει μέρος επίσης σε πολλές ομαδικές εκθέσεις στην Ελλάδα και την Ευρώπη και Αμερική.

Από το 1985 διδάσκει στη Σχολή Μάνου στην Εκάλη τη διεύθυνση της οποίας έχει από το 1997. Κύριος τομέας του εκπαιδευτικού της έργου είναι ο σχεδιασμός και η παρακολούθηση προγραμμάτων διδασκαλίας. Παράλληλα διδάσκει ζωγραφική και σχεδιάζει τα σκηνικά και τα κουστούμια του θεατρικού τμήματος της Σχολής. Μαθητές της έχουν βραβευτεί σε ελληνικούς και παγκόσμιους διαγωνισμούς.
Ζει και εργάζεται στο Κρυονέρι.

Born  in  AthensGreece  ,  1958.
1975-77  Arsakian  Pedagogical  Academy   Athens  .
1977-78   School  of  Nursery  Training  .Athens.
1979-84  Painting  at  the  Highest  School  of  Fine  Arts  , Athens  under  the  professors  Mr.  Mytaras  and  Mr.  Decoulakos.
1984  Painting  at  Royal  College  of  England  under  the  professor  Peter  de  Francia.
She  also  studied  Stage sceenery  ,Icons painting and  Printmaking  under  the  professors  Mr.  Vassiliades ,  Mr. Xynopoulos and  Mr.  Exarchopoulos.
Theoretical  studies  under  Mrs.  Lambraki , Mr.  Danassis-Afendakis  Mr.  Karatzoglou, Mr. Kondaratos.
She  has  drawn  the  stage  sceenery  and  the  costumes  for  the  Manou  Primary  school  Theatrical  group  at  the  plates .
Since  1985  she  works  as  teacher  and  art  teacher  at  Manou  Primary  School.
From  1997  she  is  director  of  the  same  school.  Her  students  have  been 
awarded  at  national  and  international  contests.
Since  1994  she  also  organises  programs  at  the  section  of  environment  protection  and  art  education.
At 2001 her art teaching method at the primary school was proposed by the GreeK   Ministery of education

Education Assistant, OSU Urban Arts Space: Started September 2014 Plans and executes lessons based on contemporary art showings in the gallery space. Lessons and programs target learners of all ages and abilities. Creative Themes Day Camp: summers 2010-2014 Assistant Arts Director and general counselor in charge of groups of children ages 3-12; planning and instruction of art and nature-based lessons for campers. 

Volunteer/Community Art Education: Kappa Phi Kappa, Professional Fraternity for Future Teachers President (2014-Present) Historian (2013) Organizes events, guest speakers and service activities. Corresponds with members and community leaders to create a stronger connection between the university and Columbus area educators. Created the current website for the organization and documented events through photography and social media. Girls Rock Columbus - Volunteer Counselor, 2016-2017 Planned and facilitated activities for girls, trans and gender-nonconforming campers that engaged in informal ways of seeing, thinking and creating art and music. National Art Education Association Member – Ohio State Chapter, Spring 2014-Present Assisted in planning and executing fundraisers and community events to support the group’s participation in regional and national conferences Mill Run Nursing Home Arts Facilitator – April 2015 – Present Led groups of residents in arts and creative based projects catered to skill levels and interests. Medicine and the Arts - Educator, Wexner Medical Center, April 2015-Present Led groups of doctors and medical students in therapeutic crafts and artistic dialogue Project MORE Mentor/Reading Coach – February 2015-May 2015 Tutored an English Language Learning fourth grade student in reading comprehension 

Abroad Experiences: Exploring Jamaican Arts and Culture – June 2015 In partnership with the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica, I focused on arts and cultural practices in schools, colleges, museums and cultural institutions in Jamaica. Meeting with local artists, ambassadors, educators and students, I explored and analyzed policies, practices, content and pedagogies of the arts in Jamaica in comparison and contrast with our understandings of such in the United States. Africa and the Diaspora; Southern Africa: Culture, Society and History – Summer 2014 Through lectures, excursions, projects and a variety of field experiences in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia, including meeting with educators, artists and community organizers, I explored the cultural and historical importance that have played a significant role in the history and politics of their time and reflect the general social context of life in Southern Africa.
